H.O.N.Y. and Digital Storytelling

In 2010, photographer Brandon Stanton embarked on an incredible digital journey that all started with one interview and photo. As the founder of Humans of New York, Stanton photographs and interviews people in NYC and blogs about their story. Because of this digital buzz, he is now a New York Times Best Selling author and the face of a huge social movement.

How was this all possible? It was possible because Stanton believed in the power of digital marketing. In just over 6 years, the social sites of Humans of New York has received quite a following. The Instagram page is at 6.6 million followers and the Facebook page has 18.2 million likes. Everyone wants to be apart of a story.  By using social media, Humans of New York is able to capitalize on digital storytelling and let everyone feel apart of a greater story nationwide.
